ALIA/ASLA Standards for professional excellence for teacher librarians
The standards developed by the ALIA/ASLA policy group have won the LinksPlus E-library Commendation Award from the International Association of School Librarianship. The judging panel described the publication as outstanding and praised its validation of the work of teacher-librarians, providing a sound model for adoption by others bodies. The standards will be included in the conference satchels for the IASL conference in Hong Kong in 2005 and in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2006.

Ivan Trundle is leaving ALIA
Ivan has worked with many people in the sector, and so I wish to let his many colleagues know that he is leaving ALIA. Ivan joined ALIA in 1990 as a graphic designer, and this job developed into oversight all of ALIA's publishing and communications. He created many of the striking images ALIA has used in posters and promotional material, but his major achievement is ALIAnet. Launched in 1995, it was the first web presence for an Australian association, and it revolutionised our communication with members. Thank you, Ivan. We wish you all the very best for the future. Sue Hutley
