Marianne Broadbent
An ALIA Fellowship was conferred on Marianne Broadbent by the Board of Directors on 21 September 2004. In making the award, the Board commended Marianne's outstanding career within and outside her profession. Marianne has demonstrated just how far one might travel using the skills and attributes originally gained and practiced within librarianship and inspires others through her achievements and willingness to share these with our profession.

Nominations close at 5:00pm 1 February 2005. Nomination forms and information are available at:

International conference on archiving web resources 9-11 Nov 2004
[National Library of Australia, Canberra] The International Conference on Archiving Web Resources is fast approaching! The conference is the first of its kind to be held in Australia, bringing together practitioners from around the world to address issues relevant to cultural heritage institutions in the use of the internet for the dissemination of information. As the focus is strategic rather than technical, it is not necessary to have experience or detailed understanding of web archiving and digital technology to attend.
