Members-only access
A gentle reminder that access to members-only content of website requires your 6-digit membership number, and a password (which may be changed at any time). In any given browsing 'session' of members-only content, you are only required to enter these details at most once every one hour. Be wary, however, of browsers with 'auto-completion' set to store these values - unless the browser that you are using is yours alone to use. To maintain access to members-only material on ALIAnet's website, please renew by the end of July!

E-mail addresses and passwords
Initial passwords for access to ALIAnet are sent to your recorded e-mail address upon request. For security, we advise a change as soon as you log in. Our membership team can help if your e-mail address is no longer current, or incorrect. Please note that if your e-mail address changes, it is up to *you* to change your subscription to any ALIA e-lists, which are not handled by the membership database. Nor are you automatically subscribed to any group or specialist e-lists other than this one (aliaNEWS). E-list activity (subscriptions etc) is always independent of membership details, and managed through an entirely different web interface, since non-members require access to this service also.

Our inCite yearly calendar hits the airwaves
As members of ALIA are well aware, the first inCite issue of each year includes a compiled calendar of events of interest to the sector, as well as ALIA events. It seems that ABC Radio have discovered it, and ALIA National Office staff have been interviewed more than once about upcoming events of interest: and in particular, 'Take a gnome to work day' (26 July). If you want to hear more about the Gnome Liberation Front and other events that inspire national interest, listen to your local ABC Radio station over the next 24 hours!

In National Simultaneous Storytime 2003, public library services, primary and pre-school libraries, early-childhood centres and pre-schools participate in reading the picture book, I don't want to go school, simultaneously throughout the country. I don't want to go school is written by popular Australian author, Christine Harris and illustrated by Craig Smith. All organisations registering will receive a NSS2003 poster featuring the chosen book; bookmarks for all the children participating; and a certificate of participation. NSS2003 is kindly sponsored by Random House and Dymocks Booksellers. To register:
