11th Information Online Conference and Exhibition 21-23 Jan 2003
Come and join the nearly 1000 delegates, speakers and exhibitors that have registered to attend. Information Online provides information professionals with a fabulous opportunity to increase their skills and knowledge of online information resources. In addition to the 3-day conference, there is a free Trade Show with over 120 booths to explore, free product reviews, several one or half day satellite events - some of which are free, and an internet lounge. Plus, the conference dinner will be a lot of fun and a chance to socialise with everyone.

Supported by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources, this conference will explore the technological, commercial and cultural futures of the book. The conference is a significant part of a major research and development project sponsored by the department. ALIA web-based mail account trial
In the last issue, I sought ALIA volunteers to take part in a trial of a new web-based e-mail service that we hope to deploy in 2003. I received a deluge of responses, and whilst a few special people have been chosen, many others will now have to await the launch of the service in the new financial year. The pilot trial will indeed take place in the first quarter of the new year, but possibly not beginning in January as previously indicated. Thanks to everyone who indicated an interest in the service - it looks like quite a winner.

Feedback
We are still being thrilled by the response to aliaNEWS from subscribers, and it is still gratifying to know that we are providing a useful and timely information, in a format that is easy to read. As always, though, we would like to know your thoughts on what you would like to see in this broadcast, and how you would like to see it.

Send your comments to Ivan Trundle, manager, communications and publishing (please remove the '.nospam' from address).
