Have you lodged your CPD record sheet yet?
The deadline for submitting completed CPD records for the 2000/2001 reporting period, is Friday 28 September, giving members a two-month period of grace. To be fair to members who have submitted their forms before the initial deadline of 31 July, we
must impose this final deadline, after which, CPD record sheets will no longer be accepted. After 28 September, all members who have lodged their record sheets will be contacted to acknowledge receipt of their documents and confirm their compliance with
the scheme. Problems recording your CPD activities? - contact ALIA National Office for assistance.

Business competencies for librarians
The Dialog Corporation is offering current ALIA members 10 per cent discount on this full-day workshop presented by Sue Henczel of CAVAL Collaborative Solutions, and opened by Elizabeth Swan. The workshop will identify the professional and personal
competencies of a 21st century information professional and applies them to the business needs of a 21st century organisation. Normal cost $495.00. To be held in Melbourne on 13 September 2001.

Improvement to ALIAnet services
Thanks to funding approval from the Board of Directors last month, major improvements are due to be made to the Association's sliver-thin bandwidth during September. Whilst we work to roll out the fibre-optic cable and build a new server, please be
patient and be prepared to see ALIAnet web pages delivered at speeds that will make your eyes water. The previously promised quadrupling of bandwidth will be exceeded by a considerable amount. More news upon completion of the work...
Four more conferences to go!
You still have the opportunity to attend an ALIA conference in 2001. Registrations are still open for the four remaining conferences: ALIA RAISS 2001 Symposium in Melbourne 12-14 October, TAFE Libraries conference in Brisbane 21-23 October, National
Cataloguers Conference in Geelong, 7-9 November, Public Libraries conference in Melbourne 12-15 November. Please note that the Public Libraries conference has extended its early-bird deadline to 30 September. Visit the ALIAnet conferences pages for further
