ALIA's copyright advice serviceCopyright is an area that impacts on all facets of library work and on all sectors. Changes to the law, most recently by the Copyright Amendment Act 2006 and the US Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act 2004 have altered provisions relating to issues such as ownership and duration of copyright, digitization and fair dealing. Licences and the internet can add more issues to be considered. The copyright advice service provides members with up-to-date information on copyright and how it affects the library and information sector. The service responds to members' queries about implementing their obligations under copyright and intellectual property law.
